This region is the home of the highest mountain (Mt Kosciuszko) in Australia. Even with its relative extreme altitude, it springs into life in both summer and winter. Skiing is popular in winter and watching wildflowers in summer is equally enjoyable. It is a great retreat and also a place for winter sports.
