David Burren AAPS
I started my photography through my childhood interest in birds, and today have made it my profession. Whether it's being out taking photos of the outdoors, being inside taking photographs of architectural spaces, or teaching other photographers camera skills and digital processing techniques, almost everything I do has a photographic aspect.
I've been a member of the Australian Photographic Society (APS) since 2001, and have been involved in local camera clubs since 2002. Today I'm a fully accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP), and am still involved in APS and camera clubs, both as a member/contributor and as a judge of various local/national/international salons. Since 2007 I have been a lecturer in several digital subjects at Melbourne's Photography Studies College.
My nature images have been used around the world including in and on books, on websites and in corporate publications. My work is occasionally seen in competitions/salons, including winning the 2008 ANZANG Nature Photographer of the Year Animal Portraits award.
I'm an itinerant traveller, and in 2009 reached the milestone of having visited all 7 continents. Along with landscape and wildlife photography in Australia, I also take photographers to other exotic locations around the globe (see LuminOdyssey.com). But Australia will always be "home".
