Gary Chapman
Gary is a completely self taught photographer who decided after working in a factory for seven years that there was a lot more world to be seen. So after making the decision to leave, he worked in a photographic lab for many years while learning everything he could about photography and accumulating many private clients along the way. Then finally, nearly 20 years ago, he and his wife embarked on running their own photographic business in their much-loved Central Victorian region and have never looked back.
Right from the very start, he has always been dedicated to pursuing his own creative work, which necessitates many, long hours, early rises and long walks searching for his next subject. Patience and commitment over the years have seen him amass a large portfolio of stunning panoramas of Australia. And although these days he still shoots everything from babies to B & B’s in the course of a week, he is spending more and more time traveling and shooting to satisfy the growing demand for his unique panoramas.
It’s quite obvious that he finds images of old trucks in farmer’s paddocks just as enthralling as grand vistas of rugged coastlines. His images are always full of color and drama and his passion, is to shoot every far-flung corner of this ”Great Southern Land”. He is very quick to point that there is so much beauty sitting undiscovered on the back roads of every state that we should all get out and see Australia for the amazing country that it is.
